Windows auto updates

if you set your computer to auto download and install at 3am. what happens if
your computer is not on, will it miss the download or will it try again when
the user turns on the computer. i would like to know win 2k SP4 & XP SP2
behavior.

It will automatically retry when the system is once again active and
connected.
