when I reboot my XP Home, the "My Documents" folder appears on the desktop.
This is especially unusual because it opens in the "Explore" "Explorer" mode,
which I rarely use. Can anyone tell me why it keeps doing this?

See Kelly's link, below. Click on "M" and scroll to...
"My Documents Folder - Opens Upon Boot"

Right on, you were exactly right. I found all those files and regedit
discrepancies that the article suggested. I'm very surprised that both
Ad-aware and Norton Antivirus both missed it. I'l bet that's also why I
heard the "Windows Logon chime" once recently, when I know for a FACT I have
the Windows sounds turned off!! I remember installing the program off a
CD...it was a FREE GAME that came bundled with something else. Wish I could
remember which one it was so I can warn other people to look out for it-
that's some pretty shady spyware! Anyway, thanks!!!
