windows and linux comparision

windows does not provide enough things it need daily updation service
packs etc , it cost more . it is better to use freeware or open source
software which provide long term benefits . it provide short term gain
to adopt windows .
 
What is it that windows doesn't provide that you need?
Why do you think linux systems don't need patching and updating?
Are we talking business use or personel use?

Last, most important question, have you tried using linux?
