Will i be rejected to activate Box2 ?

If your Retail copy of Windows XP is no longer on Box 1 due to it being
burned etc (must be a Retail copy as OEM lives and dies on first PC
installed to) then you may be able to activate over the Internet - if not
then activate via telephone.

Thanks Mike,

I have more question;

1.) if the retail version on Box2 successfully activated.
then if Box1 somehow has recovered back.
what will happen on this 2 boxes since both already a activated
windows?

2.) if Box1 is a OEM version, that means i must buy another XP CD
to install on New Box even i still have the OEM CD with me ?

3.) How to know if the XP copy is a retail or OEM when
we bough a new PC from shops ?

Thanks for your info.

You must purchase a second license for one of the boxes as you are now in
violation of the EULA and licensing for Windows XP.

Yes - you may not transfer an OEM copy/license from one PC to another. This
is one of the restrictions of OEM products and why they are cheaper then
Retail.

Look at the CD and packaging the CD came in.
It may say "only for sale with a new PC" or something like that - or it may
say OEM on the CD face. Also look at the sticker on the PC with the product
activation number on it - it may say OEM

Retail boxes are big and blue (for Pro - green for Home)
