Hey,

Just wondering if I can change the settings so that when a NEW ACCOUNT gets
created I can have MY seetings loaded instead of the Bliss Wallpaper, MSN
Homepage, Windows Default Screensaver, etc.

Any ideas how?

Thanks

You can try and copy (though I am unsure if this will work) the "ntuser.dat"
file from your named Documents and Setting folder into that of the new one.
Or you can copy the entire content of your folder in D&S there, then remove
any files you don't want there e.g. doc files, pitcures, etc.

Hello Dave,

When a new log-on account is created, a copy is made of the account named
"Default User", the copy is named whatever you name the new account.
The "Default User" account is a hidden folder within "Documents and
Settings". You'll need to turn on hidden files to see it.
Copy whatever you want to the "Default User" account (into the respective
folders).
The "Default User" account folder does not have a "My Documents" folder, I
think it get created when you create the new account.

In doing this, next year when you create a new account, things will already
be as you intend without having to remember what things you want to add.

I'm not sure about some of the settings like Wallpaper, home page and such,
others have made suggestions regarding this.
But I do know you can put desktop shortcuts and such in there.

Don't forget to turn off hidden files when done.

Hope this helps as well...!

Best regards,
Richard in Va.

Hello Malke,

Thanks for your links... a good read...
Creating a new account, then logging onto that account and making the
changes.
Logging off and then back in as administrator and using the...
Control Panel>System>Advanced>User Profiles>Copy To...
Sounds like it would cover all the bases.

Thanks again
