windows '99 ???

i read that Microsoft published a windows version called "windows '99".
is it true?

i don't mean "windows ME" or "windows '98SE" or "windows 2000". i mean
"windows '99".
 
the answers you gave me guys above me are completely ridiculous.


does microsoft published an OS called "windows '99" or she didn't?

No. Windows 99 was a nick name used for developer's versions of Win 98SE,
and Win Me too I believe. No OS by that name has ever been released for sale
by MS.

Well, around that time, the home version of Windows 2000 was cancelled, so
you might be getting a little confused by that.

No. The only Windows versions with names consisting of years were 95,
98, 98SE, and 2000.

Well, I'd stretch that list by one....Windows ME meant Millenium Edition in
reference to the year 2000.

I can't recall the year 1998SE .

I can't recall any of the years ending in BC either.

Thank you, but I know what "Millennium" (note the correct spelling)
means, as well as what it referred to. Nevertheless, the name "Windows
Me" does *not* consist of a year, as I said.
