Windows 2k wont let me change 16 to 256 colour

I have upgraded from windows 95 to windows 2000 and since
then the resolution has been set on 16 colors. It will
not let me change to 256 colour resolution and pictures
are very blured. Can you please help
 
You cant have the correct video driver installed, try downloading the latest
driver and try again.
 
you need to install the windows 2000 driver for your video card,

goto the manufactures web site and download the driver for the card
