Hi everyone, this problem has me really stumped and I hoep someone can
help me. Here is my setup:

1) Windows 2003 Server w/ Active Directory (\\eric-server)
2) Linux Fedora 2 Client (\\member1)
3) Windows XP Client #1 (\\eric)
4) Windows XP Client #2 (\\adam)
{Each machine is a member of the Win2003 domain and authenticates
through AD)

The problem is that I cannot ping \\eric form any computer besides
itself. I can ping any other computer using any of the other computers.
The host name gets resolved to the right IP address (192.168.1.104) but
all of the Ping requests time out. However if I go to run and type
\\eric on any of the Windows computers, the Shares on \\eric come up. I
would not be concerned about the lack of being able to ping, except for
the fact that I think it is related to other problems I have been
having. For example, I have IIS setup on port 3390 (on \\eric), and I
canot get to it from any computer other than itself, even though the
Port Fowarding is setup correctly on the router. I set Apache up on my
Linux computer and have no problems getting to that from anywhere
(http://enetwork.no-ip.org:9999). Also, I cannot access the \\eric
Shares from the Linux client. It does not say permission is denied,
just that it is having rouble displaying the contents. I disabled
Windows Firewall, but that did not solve anything. The only other
software firewall that I have is an old version of Norton Internet
Secuity, but that has been disabled the whole time. I switched slots on
the router but that does not help either. Any idea would be appeciated.

Just to add some more information, when I do a "TRCAERT eric" it also
times out right away, all the way through the end.
