My company is about to upgrade it's O/S to Windows 2000 Server, but the Computer Store says that Microsoft is no longer providing support for New Purchases of Windows 2000. Is this information corect ? Or can someone give me the e-mail address where i can find this info? (e-mail address removed)

This may help.

Purchase the Latest OS on either the eopen or select contracts and you will
have downgrade rights to use any prior version you want, I think - you may
need SA also.

I am not sure aboutdowngrade rights on the retail version you will have to
call MS licensing for conformation.

To be honest I would never rely on news group info for licensing purposes,
Microsoft can make their licensing very confusing at times. You have no leg
to stand on if you are audited and not compliant, what are you going to say
"a guy on newsgroup said it was ok". Call the vendor and read the EULA,
better to take a few hours out of your day then expose your firm to fines.

I do Windows 2000 Server support every day <G>

Windows NT product lifetime is ending soon for support, Windows 2000 has a
few years before that will happen.

Hi

You can still buy it from Microsoft's online shop, so I don't think your computer store is correct:
