How do I remove the dialog box that says:

'It is now safe to turn off your computer'

from Windows 2000 running SP4 & all the latest updates?

Do think someone would call you long distance to do that?

The RED lettered splash screen is there for an obvious reason.

If your MoBo has been upgraded recently and now has an ACPI feature, or if you have been
running one OS and upgraded, you had it before and now you don't, then you can go into the
BIOS and navigate to ACPI and change it setting to get it, maybe.

Along with that feature, the On/Off Power Button will have the feature that you will need to
hold the button down for 8-10 seconds to power down. When you press the button and let go,
it will automatically go into "shutdown" mode, and will go through the process of closing
all applications and processes and services, etc. and record the state of the machine and
finally shut the power down.

To learn more do a Google search for "ACPI" or "Advanced Configuration and Power
Interface".

Boy - this "Ray at Work" has a smart @$$ comment for
everyone trying to get help. Ray, why don't you get to
work and quit horsing around at Microsofts expense. What
a dill hole

Hey man, Ray I like Ray and he's poking fun at me. Really a great guy. Lighten up and get
the Christmas sprit, please.
