Is Windows 2000 Pro completely secure? I mean, if I were
to forget my password, is there ANY ways anyone could get
into the computer?

Or, if someone takes my computer, is it AT ALL possible
for ANYONE to ever gain access to my computer?

I have personal things on my computer, and am wondering
about its security if someone were to get onto my computer?

If so, could you e-mail your response, it'd be better?

No. You need two Administrator with STRONG password configuration (at least 10 characters
with alphanumeric, large and small case and at least one other keyboard mark between the
second and sixth character). And after setting this up, you need to set Users up where yours
is like a Power User and others with adequate permissions. You can find all of this the help
files and/or on Google.

(BTW, after setting the admin. user and passwords up put them up lie where your car title or
other important papers are, so that no one can get into them. I know of an executive at a
large corporation who gave his password to his secretary when he was out sick. He is now in
prison on a child pornography conviction, where he could prove that he wasn't the person who
downloaded it.)!!!

There is no such thing as a completely secure computer, car, airplane,
spacecraft.

Several.

for ANYONE to ever gain access to my computer?

Quite easy.

There is no security if the computer is accessible (means: Physical
access).

You may have a look on encryption. Just press F1 to learn more.

I didn't say it would be Rocky...
And it can be as secure as most know how to penetrate.
Combination of settings, scripts, packet scanners, port closings, PGP, and user judgment.
But when you have all of that usually someone is moxie enough to have all in have all
critical in hand, and can load an ISO in a number of minutes. It's all a game like Radar
Detectors used to be.

If you don't have physical security, you have _no_ security.
Anyone that can physically access the computer can access the hard
drive's contents, with the correct tools and sufficient knowledge.
Passwords are relatively easy to bypass, in such a situation.
