Hi, I accidently moved a program from the Start>Program menu onto my desktop.
How do I get it off my desktop and back onto that Start>Programs list? I
know it sounds silly, but I can't move it since the cursor has to stay on
Programs in order for the menu to show. Thanks in advance for your help.

Right click the Start button, select Explore or Explore All Users. You can then cut and paste the shortcut from the desktop into the start menu folder it belongs in.

In future if this happens just right click on the desktop and select undo.
now the only way u can put this back is drag it and place it back to
programs folder in the start menu it wudnt be hard to find which subfolder
it belonged to.

Hope this helps...,
Umesh Thota.

If this happens in the future, you can just grab the shortcut on the
desktop and drag it over the 'Start' button, hold it there for a second and
the start menu will show. Now navigate the start menu to where you want to
put it THEN drop it where you want.
