The OS on my home pc is Windows 2000 Professional and I
have been using America Online 9.0 as my ISP through a
cable modem from Brighthouse Networks. I recently shut the
system down for 3 days. Upon turning the system back on,
it would not boot up. It displayed an error message
stating the \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMced file was
missing or corrupt. Using my set-up boot disk and
emergency repair disk I was able to open windows 2000 pro.
Since then I have not been able to connect to my AOL
account. After several hours on the phone with several AOL
and Brighthouse technicians, everything with the AOL
software and setup appears correct as is the connection
with the cable modem. Upon trying to sign on to AOL I
receive an error message that there is a "windows network
configuration problem". I have gone through several
suggestions in the windows help and troubleshooting
sections with no success. Does anyone have some
suggestions, experience with, or fixes for this issue ??
