windows 2000 lock up

Windows 2000 lock up in the middle of using applications.
It Would not even respond to control+alt+del key. The
only way to make the computer respond is cold boot. Then
it works for a while and then do the same thing. Please
help

Try to do a windows update so you can download all the
latest security updates on microsoft.com

After doing your update run your virus scan make sure that
it is updated so it can detect the latest virus, if
there's any...
