Hi occasionaly my DHCP server craps out and I want to set
up a back up server. I want it to just start handling the
requests if the first one stops working. Is there anyway
to set this up?

Thanks

Yes, set up your second DHCP server and assign a scope that is compatable
with your current one, but does not over lap.
i.e. First scope 10.0.0.1 to 10.0.0.125 and second scope 10.0.0.126 to
10.0.0.255. with all other info the same. Of course minus your static IPs.
When machines start up they will broadcast for a DHCP server and get info
from first one they find.
I tested this last weekend. Seemed OK.

Yes, but you need to make sure you don't have overlapping scopes (e.g. each
DHCP server should be responsible for one range of addresses).
