Lately I have alot of trouble with the window that appears. Sometimes it only
half appears. Sometimes it will get to the startup window but not to the sign
on window. Does this sound like a problem with windows or with my internet
provider.

Hi

Does the half window appear with any particular web site, or is it a general
problem?

ahi,
It is the start up window for AOL. Sometimes it stays on the start up window
and won't progress to the sign in window. The hourglass stays on and the only
way to get out of it is to log off or hit Cntrl Alt End. On the sign on
screen sometimes I can choose user name but the section where I type in my
password won't appear and it won't allow me to click out of it.After about
five or six times of going through this ritual I finally get the sign on
screen.

Hi

That would suggest an AOL problem. Have you asked them to see if they can
help?

The solution is to clean install XP and thus get rid of AOL. You really
will be doing yourself and your computer a big favor if you get rid of
that crap. If you have Norton installed, a clean install will also get
rid of that crap.

Alias

When you refer to AOL and Norton as "that crap" do you mean get rid of it as
as my internet provider and get rid of Norton as my internet security because
you think they are crap? Please explain? How exactly do I perform a clean
install? And please excuse my ignorance I don't need sarcastic remarks just
some friendly help.
