Window size and ntvdm.exe

Some DOS programs need to run in windows that have more than 25 lines
but not all of them do.

The usual place to set the number of lines for a DOS program is in its
PIF file (Shortcut), under Properties, Screen, but the Initial Size box
always seems to be greyed.

Another way is to start the DOS program, open the window's Control menu
(top left), and go to Layout. But for some reason, that menu, instead
of having the name of the DOS program as title always shows
....\System32\NTVDM.EXE.
So any changes made to the Layout affect every DOS window.

Anyone knows how to get around this?

Other versions of Windows didn't have that problem, as Properties for
the program's PIF file (Shortcut) and Properties under the window's
Control menu were the same and only related to that particular program.
Thank you,
Claude
