window insallation

Hi,
I wonder if any of you smart computer foke can shed some light on my problem.
I have just tried to install xp pro on a machine i have put together and it
seems to restart before it has completly installed,when it tries to boot it
goes to the xp pro screen with the moving bar for a while then just a black
screen,any help would great as am only a novice at this computer stuff

Sounds like you have a video card or monitor that XP does not have drivers
for - in the installation process there is a prompt for drivers that are
"foreign" to XP....

Thanks mate,that was top advise,i took the graphics card out of my home
machine and tried with that and booted first time,Many thanks mate.
