Window IE not opening in Maximized mode

I can initial open IE (6) maximized (not full screen).
This is fine. However, if I click on a hyperlink to
another web site, it opens a second browser window, but
not maximized (only about 20% of window appears). I have
to manually maximize the second browser window.

Is there a setting I can set? Maybe in the
Registry?...that will open additional windows maximized?

Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.
