when I open IE6, the window frame doesn't cover the
entire desktop, even when i maximize it. there is about
a 1/8" gap across the top of my monitor that shows the
desktop even when IE window is maximized. it also cuts
my status bar in half. everything else works ok, it's
just annoying. all other apps windows fully fill the
screen. only IE is giving me trouble. any help would be
appreciated. thanks.

tried the regedit, no good. my window for IE6 is still
not full screen. this is frustrating. any other ideas
would be appreciated. thanks for the reply Don.

paul,
Try the registry edit in:

well, tried the regedit again. didn't work. went into
regedit on the "Main-WindowPlacement" key. the first
binary value was set at 2C, changed that to 00 and Voila,
I have a full screen IE again. Thanks for the help.

Assuming you aren't using Auto-hide on your Task bar
try resizing it. That should cause the parameters for the
main window to be recalculated. Another, similar but more
comprehensive cause for recalculation would be to change
your display resolution temporarily. The state of the Task bar's
Auto-hide would probably not matter in that case.
