Suggesting you to download the TweakUI. One small and powerful to set 100s of
settings. The link is below:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

On the right-side pane, click on TweakUI.exe (147KB) size.

Download and install the utility. The run it from Start - All Programs -
PowerToys for Windows XP - TweakUI.

After opening Tweak UI, on the left side pane: (insert your Camera Card First)

1. Double-Click My Computer
2. Auto Play
3. Drives
4. Check the drive of your card (if it is uncheck)
5. Click on Types (below to Drives)
6. Check "Enable Auto Play for Removable Drives (if uncheck)

If the settings were already checked then uncheck and check them again.

Hope it will work. Let us know.
