Win98 & XP Pro dual boot clarification please?

According to M$ if I want to have Win98 & XP on the same HD I have to have 2
partitions formatted to FAT32. I would like to have XP on a NTFS partition
so that I don't loose the NTFS functionality like file permissions, etc. I
also want the XP partition to be inaccessible from Win98 for integrity and
security reasons.

My question is: can I format the XP partition to NTFS and the partition for
Win98 to FAT32 or can it be done if I used 2 HDs?

Thanks in advance.

.Yes you can set each one up. Partition your drive and
install 98 first, then XP. You will have to install ALL
drivers to each OS as they will be format spasific. When
your comp boots you will be asked to choose an OS. You
can make XP password protected. To acsses each OS you
have to reboot your comp.
