Trying to set up a peer-to-peer network connection between win98 and xp home
on a friends comp, where win98 is going to be the host comp, is this
possible, if so why can’t I get either comp to recognise each other in the
1st instance as in: the network cable is not recognised..
Have tried putting 192.168.0.1 and 198.162.0.2 into the relevant comps but
both comps have not recognised the existence of a network cable on either
comp.
Know this sounds like a badly wired cable but I have checked his wiring and
it seems spot on?

Are you using a crossover cable or hub?.. have you searched the net for info
on setting up a peer to peer network?.. have you tried using Network
Wizard?..

If you want to run ICS, then you'll need W98SE instead of W98FE as the host.
