We are wanting to setup 3 machines that will be used for internet access and
printing. The 3 machines will be on a aingle workgroup with internet access
via a DSL line. We would like to restrict installations of programs and
access to the C: drives - basically restrict as much as possible. Any help
would be greatly appriciated to get us pointed in the right direction! Thanks

If user accounts are not members of the administrators group, they will not
be able to install programs. You can restrict access on a per file or
folder basis with NTFS permissions (Security tab). However, you do not want
to restrict access to the entire C: drive - eg. users need full controll
access to their profile folders and read/execute access to programs.

Doug - Thanks for the info - do you have any info about GPO's for a local
user on a machine? I am trying to remove alot of things from the start menu
( Windows Update, Control Panel, Run Command, . . and so forth) - I can set
up the the correct restrictions, but it is for all the user, even
Administrator - anyway to set it up for a single user account only?? thanks
again all for the info!!
