Ok. We upgraded our work machines from Win98 to Win2k. Now, when I
access the CD-RW drive for long reads or use it to burn a CD, the
entire machine slows to a crawl. I did not have this issue with the
same hardware running under Win98.
I looked for some settings for the CD drive that may speed up access,
but I can not find it anywhere.
Any ideas on what could be occurring, eg. why this is a Win2k and not
a Win98 issue?
Thanks
P.S The machine is a P3-600 with 512K of memory and a generic 24x
reader, 16 writer.
