| Hi All,
|
| I am using Windows2000 with SP4, recently, I found some applications such
as ICQ, MSN Messenger, YM, and some online games CAN'T detect the network
connection (I using LAN). Every time I start these program I can not see
the network ICON showing signal.
|
| But I can use IE, Email, Media Player, if I caonnect to Internet using
IE.... I can see the NETWORK ICON showing sinal.
|
| Does any body know what the problem is ? How to solve ?
|
| Thanks
|

Hi Kelvin,
This sounds like it maybe an issue with SSL in your environment.
It maybe a router or firewall reacting to a security change.
To test for this we can bypass the SSL caching to test for connectivity.
This is the article and the registry settings. Please make these changes
and test.
Backing up your registry is always recommended before any modifications

To Override the no-cache directive for Internet Explorer 5.01, follow these
steps:
Start Registry Editor.
For a per-user setting, locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings
For a per-computer setting, locate the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings
On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry
values:
"BypassSSLNoCacheCheck"=Dword:00000001
Quit Registry Editor.
