My system randomly shuts down, hangs and displays the following message

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERRO

Tried several times to reinstall my OS to no avail. Additionally, the error log under Advanced System Information no longer works, just hangs at 100%. The systems specs are

I think the cause of it was bad blocks within vm pagefile on the hdd. Downloaded powermax utility from Maxtor and did a preboot chkdisk on my drive 0, and was able to reinstall the OS subsequently. Many thanks for your help.
