Hi,
I have a code 39 error for my DVD and CD-ROM drivers in
Device Manager. Something went out-of-sorts following a
packet writing session (saved html files copied too
quickly). Originally, I was able to recover the drives
with a system restore, but undid the restore, and then
all of the restore points were missing.
All of the installed base of programs were installed
after upgrading to SP1, so none of them will be
functional after the repair option from the recovery CD
is run.
If I use System Restore or export a copy of the Registry,
and then repair WinXP and reinstall SP1 and all the
patches - can I use the System Restore backup (or import
the registry copy) and still use the rebuilt CD and DVD
drivers?
Will System Restore effect the newly reinstalled CD-RW
and DVD drivers?
Thank you.
