i myself have come accross an error installing win xp
Pro...
i was using an older comp, 1800+ amd athlon, asus
motherboard (dunt know model), nvidia geforce 2, sb live
5.1, wd HD 40gig, cd burner (plextor) and generic cd drive
well i got all kinds of errors when installing, mostly
messages about not being able to copy certain files
during the copy instalation files, and at ne were between
60-99 percent it blue screens saying i got an error,
saying typically something like "stop 0x000..."
well after replacing the entire computer (except cd
drives, and sound card) i have now
amd 2500+, new asus kt600 motherboard, serial ata WD HD80
gig, new antec case with 350 watt power supply, new
geforce fx 5500...and still same problem
this is what error read:
PFN_LIST_CURRUPT
Stop 0x0000004e (0x00000099, 0x000002d9, 0x00000000,
0x00000000)
ms web site and knowelge base have no info concerning ne
of these messages
and just to cover the idea of the cd not working, i used
it flawlessly to install from boot on my other system
(amd 2500+, asus kt400, geforce 4 ti4800, wd 80 gig ide,
sb audigy platnium, cd burner and dvd drive seperate)
which is very close in build to the new 1
i am so fed up with dealing with this problem, its been
almost a month without this comp werking, and hundreds of
dollars later, and still same end result
so any help
