WIN XP PRO RESTART PROBLEMS

HELPME

I can start up winxp normal when computer first turned on
all is normal, bios is set up all seems ok but when i
restart it stops and says insert valid boot up meadia or
reboot and select proper boot device, my system bios is
set up and detects everything and the boot prioty is set
a,c,cdrom. if i shut the computer down and turn on it
boots up with no problem only has problem on
restarts,checked bootcfg,bootfix,mbr repair and nothing
works to fix the restart problem

It sounds to me like you have some sort of hardware issue, perhaps with
the connector to the hard drive on the motherboard, or with the hard
drive's connector. You should start by doing a diagnosis with a utility
downloaded from the drive mftr.'s website. If you are uncomfortable
working with hardware, take the machine to a good local computer repair
shop (not a BestBuy or CompUSA type of store) and have them check it
out for you. They will be able to test the motherboard and other
hardware components for you.
