Win XP Pro install

I am currently using XP home edition and would like to upgrade to Xp pro. If I get the XP Pro upgrade, can I do a clean install with the upgrade disk, or do I have to first reinstall XP Home then upgrade to Pro?

So long as you have a "qualifying" disk for upgrade, you can do a clean
install of XP Pro. from the update version. See the information on the

Will the XP Home disk that came with my Dell "Qualify" for the upgrade? As far as I know it is not a restore disk, but the actual o.s. installation disk.

If it qualified for the Home upgrade, it will qualify for the Pro as well.
