I need some help, here is my configuration:

PC w/ WIN XP Pro , DSL Modem, Linksys 8 port workgroup Hub
Laptop w/ Win XP Pro

I am using the Windows Firewall and since I turned it on on both computers I
can't share files between the two computers now, Can someone help me
configure the 2 computers so that I can still share files between the 2
computers...

My laptop accessing the internet the through the linksys hub, I am NOT using
ICS or DHCP...

I just want to share my files between the 2 computers like I did before I
turned on the Win Firewall...

Thansk in advance for any help...

Phil

Turn off the win firewall
then go look for ZoneAlarm.....there is a free version.

WinXP's built-in firewall is not designed to be used on internal
LAN connections. The _only_ connection on which you should have ICF
enabled is the direct connection to the Internet.

Internet Firewalls Can Prevent Browsing and File Sharing

This matter is addressed in Service Pack 2. WinXP's built-in
firewall will allow exceptions for File & Print Sharing.
