Hi
Is there any way I can persuade either XP Pro or Vista Business to act as a
domain controller?? I did have a Server2003 setup but really used this only
a fileserver and DC.. I ditched S 2003 because it will not support WLAN. If
I can make it do this, thats another way around the problem .. HELP!!!
thanks

Jim,

Only a computer running a server OS (Server 2000 or 2003), or a *nx distro, can
be a domain controller. What was the WLAN problem?

In addition to Chuck's reply, if you were trying to run your server / domain
entirely on wireless, I don't recommend it.

Unless the OP lists "using networks that do not work properly in all kinds
of odd and interesting ways" as a hobby. In which case the more wireless the
better.

"Odd and interesting"...heck, why limit it to networking? Cover it in
mayonnaise and pennies. Go to town!
