I have an old computer winth win98 installed. A friend of mine formated it
for me and installed winxppro.
However, can't hear any music, can't play any multimedia any longer.
When checking the medias installed, it tells the sound card and all
connected devices are installed correctly and runs perfectly.
In the loudspeakers I can just hear a pulsing, clicking sound. Thats all.
Would be grateful for any assistance.

Could it be the sound cards etc are not compatible to winxppro?

Should I format the computer again... back to win98?

No, don't go back to 98. Check in the device manager. It may have been
corrupted during XP setup.
(Control panel, administrative tools, computer management, device manager.)
