Win XP Multimedia Install Hanging

I've built a new pc from components --- and have been attempting to
install WIN XP Professional - Multimedia Center Edition. I am able to
boot from CDROM and the system recognizes the install disk and
keyboard. After checking the system hardware (successfully), the
install hangs on the XP Professional Install Welcome Page (the one
where you have the option of Full Install, Repair or Exit). The
symptoms indicate that the system, after performing the hardware
analysis, no longer recognizes the keyboard. I have repeatedly tryed
to hit the <ENTER> key to complete the full install --- and nothing
happens. If I select <R> for repair, or even <ESC> to exit --- I get
no response from the system.

I've shut down/restarted the install process several times, and it
hangs at the same point every time.
Any suggestions or insight is welcome.

Thanks,
Mick

Open your BIOS and set the Keyboard to use Legacy Mode,
or use a PS/2 adapter for your keyboard during installation.
