Win XP keeps shutting down

Installed an upgrade to a frineds computer that had Win Me. Just did an
upgrade, not a new install. Everytime I boot the computer it works just long
enough to get on line to download some updates.........then say's needs to
shut down. Wonder what is wrong.

probably Blaster worm or other viruses that used RPC vounerability...
Get viruskiller, blaster patch and firewall etc...
