Hello!

I have Windows XP Home on my laptop and all of a sudden it will not boot!
When I turn the laptop on the booting sequence begins, I see the Windows XP
Home logo and after a few seconds it restarts by itself, again the same
thing keeps repeating in a loop. How can I overcome this problem? I
appreciate your time.

Thanks and regards,
GG

Have you installed any new hardware or software?

If so try booting into safe mode. Press F8 as you boot up.

Uninstall any new hardware / software, then reboot.

If you haven't installed anything new, Press F8 as you boot up and choose
'Last Known Good Configuration'.

I tried the "Last Known Good" and "Safe Mode" methods, but still the same
thing happens. It keeps repeating / looping the boot sequence! Any
suggestions?

Thanks,
GG

press F8 to get out of loop this will start your computer in safemode
run the systems cd.reload xp before you reinstall
the service pack2 read about installation from your computer companies
website first

I have the same problem and I am still using SP1. BTW, this has gone on for
some time, I just try to ignore it, but I'd sure like to be able to fix it.

I had the same reboot problem when SP 2 automatically downloaded and
installed. I could not use last known good configuration, I started the
computer using my Windows CD and tried restore but I could not access it.
My computer would just sit there and continually reboot after the Windows
Logo.

Tried the SP2 removal procedure from Microsoft and that would not work.
Removed part of it and then said it could not undo the rest. Figures if the
patch is worse than the problem that the repair would not work either.

I had to reinstall windows to get the computer working again. However this
left me with lots of other problems including not being able to access
Microsoft's update sites for windows or for MS office.

I have e-mailed Microsoft more times than I can count but no answer.

I am beginning to think that I will have to completely wipe everything off
my hard drive and start over.

Hope you have better luck than I have.
