I had an elderly IBM Hard Disk C: drive that lost its
marbles during the heatwave here in France a few days ago
and kept crashing. I managed to make a copy of it before
it died, but in doing so I've managed to disorganise
myself so that my computer boots to a user called "OWNER"
& on this desktop in Windows Explorer there is almost
nothing there, "My recent documents" doesn't work
properly either but otherwise I can do most things.
If I click My computer\C:\Documents and Settings there in
the window are "Owner" and three other users that are not
offered at the XP "Welcome" screen. One of the
other "users" has almost all my files and would appear to
be the only actual "user" I want,
Oh yes! and right out of the blue Billy Gates keeps
asking me to activate Windows XP, again and again and
again......... What a mess!
Appart from another clean install, (I can't face it!) all
ideas would be most gratefully received.
