I have a user with a Win XP home edition computer that was able to
connect to our win2k terminal server until say 6 weeks ago. There is
nothing wrong with the terminal server as I connect every morning from
an XP Pro and a Win2k machine.

I have a couple of Win9x machines that connect with the web client
that need to have the registry entry reset every couple of months. Is
this the same problem, or something else?

All help is appreciated.

Thanks

Michelle

The difference in behaviour you are experiencing between Win2K Pro/XP Pro
and XP Home is that both Win2K and XP Pro have a built-in Terminal Services
client and XP Home does not. You need to install a terminal services client
on XP Home.

The Remote Connection IS installed in Win XP Home. I know that they
cannot host, but they were able to use the connection up until a short
time ago. That's why the licensing question. I thought that XP has a
built in license for remote desktop. Is it just XP Pro that does?

Yes.
