Perform the following:

1. Right-click on your Desktop and select: NEW > SHORTCUT
2. In the Create Shortcut window, type in: %SystemRoot%\System32\dfrg.msc , and click "Next"
3. In the next window, type in: Disk Defragmenter , and click "Finish"
4. A Disk Defragmenter shortcut icon will appear on your Desktop.

.
Try doing a search in all files to see where
defragmenter is located and try to run it from there.
Mine is listed on system tools; don't know why urs
wouldn't be also.

Put in your Windows XP Disk and reboot the computer
Boot from CD
Then choose the Repair Windows XP
Hope That Helps!

Did you Right Click on My Computer and then Click on
Manage to see if the Disk Deframenter is there??

OK, I have the icon and when I doubleclik it, I recieved
the typical defragmenter tool display.
THE PROBLEM is that if I press ANALYZE or DEFRAGMENT
nothing happens.
it shows the following:

Volume C: FAT32 capacity 6 GB Free Space 3.7GB

%free space 61%

any suggestion?

thanks a lot!
