Win XP error message ...

A friend with a Compaq Presario 1200XL running Windows XP
Pro gets this error message twice a week:

A problem has been detected & Windows has been shut down
to prevent damage to your computer.
DRIVER - IRQL - NOT - LESS - OR - EQUAL.
Tech Info: STOP:0X000000DI (0XFF8DDB18, 0X00000002,
0X00000000, 0XF3F7D392)
HSF _ V124, SYS - Address F3F7D392 base At F3F2C000
Datestamp 3B13C8D4

What is the problem and how may I fix it ???
