Hello,

Does anyone know if there are any XP drivers for the
Sidewinder Gamepad Version 1.0, if so, could I please
have the link.

When I tried installing the supplied Gamepad Drivers
(which are designed for Win 95) a message advised that XP
didn't recognise the Gamepad.

I was then able to configure 2 game controllers for my 2
gamepads via control panel, I selected MS Sidewinder
(Auto detect) from the add menu. I calibrated both and
both functioned properly in the test area.

However, I've tested a few games and found that
controller one is fine but it won't acknowledge
controller 2 at all. Please note I didn't have any
problems in Win 95.

Please note controller 2 is connected to controller one,
as controller one is connected to my gameport on the
soundcard.

Thanks.

Good god, why would you expect a Win95 driver to work with XP? Does
MS even support Win95 anymore?

For drivers, go to the manufacturer's website. MS doesn't supply
them.

Never used the gamepad you mention. However, have you checked the Game
Controllers applet in Control Panel to see if you can add the device from
the list of embedded drivers? For the Sidewinder Pro, I selected
"Sidewinder (autodetect)".

Note that if a suitable driver is found, all you get is the driver. If the
device has programmable buttons that are programmed by specialty software
but that software won't install under your version of Windows then you can't
program the buttons.
