Win XP does not recognize Win 98

I have networked 3 computers to share DSL and now share
printer and eventually files. I used the XP machine
as "host" (I am really not sure of the proper terminology
here so please bear with me) or primary computer as I was
told this was easiest given the other two machines have
Win 98 and 98SE respectively. The two 98 machines can
print from the printer that is connected via USB cable to
the Win 98 computer. The network recognizes all 3
computers. I am able to share and print from the Win 98
SE computer but when I try to print from the XP machine I
get error message that computer is not printing. I have
loaded the computer software drivers to XP computer and
even tried to direct connect to XP machine. It did print
then but the Win 98 machines would not print.

I have not yet tried to share files but at this point it
seems useless unless I can print. Any assistance would be
greatly appreciated and if you could send personal reply
in adddition to the discussion group reply to me at ls3rd@
(compuserve).com [remove parenthesis for actual email
address--web advice said to do this for spam prevention
purposes]. Thanks...........LS
