I am running Win XP Pro - SP2

When I run chkdsk with the "F" switch, and then reboot the system, Chkdsk no
longer runs when I rebboot.

Any advice in solving this problem woud be appreciated.

Make sure you typed it correctly with a space before the /F. Like this:
CHKDSK /F Then you should be asked "run this on reboot?" Answer Yes, press
Enter, then reboot.
Or you can use the Disk Tools by right clicking on the drive in My Computer
and selecting Properties, Tools, Error Checking with the repair option.

If i remember correctly,if youve typed:CHKDSK C: /F And it fails,then
microsoft
says to run in cmd:CHKNTFS With the right syntex after,in cmd type:CHKNTFS
/?
Youll get the cmds

I Have the same problem with running CHKDSK. None of your advices worked.

When I try to use CHKDSK, I am asked "run this on reboot". Although I agree,
nothing happens on the next reboot.

I cannot figure out why this solution doesn't work.

Scan the newsgroup for other posts on this. There have been quite a few
recently. Look for the postings by Wesley Vogel. He offers several
suggestions.

I remember having this problem, and never finding an answer.
Either some windows hotfix repaired it, or some bit of offending software I
had on my system was removed, in any case it just began working again.

V strange.
