We Bought three Pcs about a year ago from the same
company they were all diferent types Ie. a Latop and two
desktop types both different, But all were installed with
Win XP Pro. The Company stuck the CD Key Numbers onto the
CD Jewel cases instead of the Machines. I now have a
problem with one of the Pcs and have to Fdisk, format and
reinstall, and I do not know which Win Xp disk was used
to install which operating system on which machine. What
problems will I have if I use the wrong CD Key on the
wrong Pc. is it important to use the correct disks and CD
Key. and what problem may I have with Re-Activation.
Appreciate any advice.
Thanks Richard

Google searching would have resulted in:

Belarc Advisor (downloaded, installed and ran) on your PCs should reveal the
CD Key to you.
http://www.belarc.com/

Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder (downloaded, extracted and ran) on your
PCs should also reveal this key.

EVEREST Home Edition

The Keys that these Programs are revealing are all
different to the ones on the CD Disks, why is this , is
it important

Do these computers have the original factory installation of windows
XP?
If so that is normal since the factory image is often different.

It may also be that the incorrect product Keys were given with these
computers.

The disks themselves have no Key on them. The key is provided by the
manufacturer.

Easy...check the other two installations with the magicaljellybean program,
then by process of elimination checking those keys, you'll know which
is the proper key to use and go ahead and install from CD.
Key. and what problem may I have with Re-Activation.

Re-activation will be no problem. Do it online or by phone, your choice.
