Win ME upgrade to XP - Existing software install

I upgraded from ME to XP and the operating system is
fine. However, I neglected to remove existing software
programs and have been upable to start them in xp. Is
there any solution to avoid reinstalling?

Also, in the XP explorer view, I see my programs listed
numerous times under various subdirectories. When I
delete from one directory I still find the program in
numerous directories. Unfortunately, the majority of
programs do not appear in the add/delete programs view in
xp (it seems like they're still installed in the me
system). Is there any way to move the programs to the
xp? Also, how do I go about cleaning all the duplicate
files.

Thanks so much - I realize I did the install A*#
backwards, but I'm hoping there's a fix without
reinstalling (or am I being naive??).

You may have to reinstall the applications to get them to register properly.
Can you run any of the applications from the other locations?

I'm having the exact same problem. I installed XP Home
Upgrade over my ME, and everything works EXCEPT the MS
Office and Outlook apps.

Can anybody advise? I've run the compatibility Wizard but
keep getting the message "This program must be installed
to run. Please run Setup from the location where you
previously installed the application",...or something
simliar to that.
