The vast majority of what used to be included in the win.ini file is now contained in the registry. Windows XP retains the win.ini file for backwards compatibility with older applications. C Chelsea Dec 21, 2005 #4 Win.ini might still be used though if you have some very old 16 bit apps or drivers. As previously said its a product from earlier versions of Windows that didn't use a registry. Chelsea
