Will Windows Mail open saved Outlook Express mails

I have been using Outlook Express in Windows XP to manage and save my emails
in folders created in the HDD.

Now that I have ordered Windows Vista I found out that Outlook Express will
be replaced by Windows Mail.

I am concerned is whether Windows Mail will be able to open my saved Outlook
Express emails or not. If not, what would be the solution to access all
those past emails I have saved?

These tips should help you with that task:

How to Import messages into Windows Mail from Outlook Express
http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/53e5df86-5ffb-43cf-a0c8-164e3fe7994f1033.mspx

At the bottom of the webpage there's a link to another "how-to" procedure to
transfer the contact info (address book).

As a workaround, I have used a USB flash drive to transfer the messages and the
address book. If you have multiple identities simply switch identities on the
WinXP system, then drag and drop the messages onto the drive. These will then be
individual EML files not the DBX folders themselves. You may need to create
separate folders on the drive if necessary. Plug the flash drive in the Vista
system then open Windows Explorer and WinMail so that you can drag and drop the
EML files into the applicable WinMail folder(s).

Note that WinMail does not support separate identities like OE does.

The OE address book is a WAB file. While on Vista, simply double-click on the
WAB file and the addresses will be imported into WinMail's contacts.

Good luck!
