Will Office97 Work on XP-Pro???

Hi ..probably a dumb question ..

I'm ordering a new pc with an XP-Pro platform. I need it to also have MS
Word and Excel software as well, which the pc does not come with ..without
an extra upcharge.

I do however already own a MS Office97, Small Business Edition disk. Will
my existing Office97 work with the new XP-Pro ..and if so, are they any down
sides to using such an old version.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
 
OFFICE 97 runs just fine on Windows XP. OFFICE SBE is often
OEM software sold with a computer. If so, it is not
licensed to be moved to another computer.
