Will free version of Zone Alarm do the job under the following conditions?

Windows 2K WS acting as server on a LAN and as host for ICS with dial-up
connection to the Internet.

2 Windows XP laptops acting as clients sharing the internet connection and
an application on the server.

Will I be able to configure the free version of ZA to keep outside traffic
outside without preventing the rest of the network to function? The Win 2K
computer will be on line 8 hours a day.

.
you can get a realy good firewall(FREE) from microsofts
update page,or go to
http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/windowsxp/antivi
rus.asp
the one from computer associates. It comes with 1 year
free antivirus+1 year free firewall(I Realy Like The
Firewall From Them),also AV caught 4 trojans I had on my
system that Norton didn't catch!Tried zone alarm.din't
care for it much.

The firewall in the CA eTrust suite IS a rebranded version of ZoneLab's
ZoneAlarm software. All CA did was purchase the license to bundle it with
their Antivirus software. So the bottom line is, that either will do
EXACTLY the same job for you.
